CE marking - legally compliant and future-proof implementation

What does the CE marking actually mean?

CE marking is mandatory as soon as an EU directive or regulation provides for it. It confirms that your product meets all relevant health and safety requirements.

Important: Operators also become manufacturers if a machine is significantly modified - with all the resulting obligations.

New requirements from 2027 - Machinery Ordinance 2023/1230

The new Machinery Regulation introduces a binding set of rules for machinery safety in the EU.

Overview of transition periods

  • Until 19.01.2027: The Machinery Directive applies
  • From 20.01.2027: Only the Machinery Ordinance 2023/1230 is valid

The regulation is based on the current state of the art and introduces extended requirements for safety, documentation and processes.
