Companies that are allowed to discharge more than 750 m³ of wastewater in one day must appoint one or more water protection officers. The water protection officer ensures compliance with the relevant legal regulations and works towards the application of suitable wastewater treatment processes. It also ensures that the rules of the AwSV are complied with.
